Transitional design, fusion look, creative reinterpretations of old patterns: carpets created by the German-Persian designer Ali Oskui juxtapose the Orient with the Occident, the East with the West, traditional knotting techniques with popular shades. The carpets are elaborately handmade in India – from virgin wool, partly with silk, viscose or nettle fibres. Matt-gloss contrasts underline the sometimes gentle, sometimes lively play of colours in pastel shades or in deep, expressive tones.
